Sinfonia Gulf Coast Presents Classical Connections Featuring Steven Banks, Saxophone, March 23

Sinfonia Gulf Coast “redefines the symphony experience” once again with Classical Connections feat. Steven Banks, saxophone. This Southeast U.S. premier of Diaspora, described as “symphonic poems,” is Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach.

Recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant and Sinfonia Gulf Coast’s Young Concert Artist prize, saxophonist Steven Banks pushes boundaries, expanding the instrument’s repertoire while showcasing its vast capabilities.

Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky’s riveting Pictures at an Exhibition, composed as a solo for piano in 1874, completes this compelling program.
